English Premiership League News Article | | | Thursday, April 28th, 1814: 3-Homer Hat Trick for Smith If you were sitting in the bleachers and brought your glove to the Bollocks-Florists game, there was a good chance you'd catch one of the three home runs hit by Tight Ass Smith. The Bollocks catcher repeatedly sent eager fans scurrying to catch a souvenir and led Birmingham to a 10-6 win over Sherwood.
"Hey, the three homers were great, but I'm just trying to help my ballclub...not thinkin' about home runs. I'm just thinkin' about winning ballgames. When you think about home runs, you very seldom get 'em," he philosophized in the postgame press conference.
Smith was 3-4 on the day with 6 RBI.
T. Smith hit a three-run home run off G. Lucchetti in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off G. Lucchetti in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off P. Astall in the 6th and flied out in the 8th.
This year Smith is batting .200 with 5 home runs and 19 RBIs. | |
