Slick Ilac of the Malta Falcons was injured in today's game against Ceylon and had to be helped off the field by the trainers. The initial diagnosis is a strained back trying to blow a midget, and he is expected to be out for up to 4 weeks. It happened while Ilac was throwing a pitch. "It hurt a lot, to be honest. I just hope it heals soon and I can get back on the field."

 | Friday, March 18th, 1814: Rhode Island-Malta Deal: Odabashian for Bee
Officials for the Rhode Island Scholars confirmed that they have traded 22-year old minor league first baseman Sandy Odabashian and $20,000 in cash to the Malta Falcons. In return, the Scholars will receive 27-year old starting pitcher Moog Bee and 23-year old minor league first baseman Perm Whetzel.
In his lifetime numbers Bee has a 19-13 won-lost record with a 3.36 ERA.

Malta fans will be disappointed to learn that Baio Ström developed pooped pants while running the bases in today's game. After the doctor informed the Malta Falcons manager that Ström was expected to miss 2 weeks, the manager told the press that the rest of the team would have to step up their play until the first baseman could return. "You can't make excuses in baseball, because there's always a game tomorrow," said the team's skipper.
