| | Saturday, June 4th, 1814: Maneesh 5-5 Against Newcastle It's not something you read in the sports pages everyday -- a 5-for-5 day. It may only come around once in a career -- a lot of players never have one -- but Romb Maneesh got one today. He scattered hits all over Manchester Rounders Grounds to pace Manchester to a 4-3 victory over Newcastle.
The Newcastle skipper told reporters in the press room, "Tip your hat to him. He hit some good pitches. According to the scouting report, Maneesh hit several that he is not supposed to hit."
R. Maneesh singled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run single in the 8th and hit a solo-shot off R. Zook in the 10th.
To date, Maneesh has collected 86 hits for a .391 average. He has posted 1 home run, scored 25 runs and driven in 29 runs. | | | Injuries | | Player | Injury | Out for... | Disabled List Status | | LF Steely Dan Witmeyer | cornhole replacement | 5 weeks | Not on DL | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 35-47, .427 PCT | | Position in Division | 8th, 19.0 GB | | Record at home | 23-18, .561 PCT | | Record on the road | 12-29, .293 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 3-5, .375 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 14-15, .483 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 17-15, .531 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 18-32, .360 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 1-9, .100 PCT | | Record in April | 14-14, .500 PCT | | Record in May | 14-15, .483 PCT | | Record in June | 7-18, .280 PCT |
