| Breaking News | | Sunday, July 3rd, 1814: Pevaeta Superb Against Kashmir "That's one thing that has never changed in this game -- pitching can control hitting," the Sitar Heroes manager told reporters after today's game.
The Sweaters ran into a buzzsaw as Catch Pevaeta cut them down to size 1-0 with a 3-hit shutout.
His skipper added, "He knows exactly what he's doing. He's not going to throw you a good pitch until you make him throw one."
In the complete game whitewash the Mumbai hurler doled out 3 walks and registered 10 strikeouts.
In the postgame press conference his catcher said, "Catch goes out there and just goes about his business. I don't think he gets too concerned about what's going on. You can call any pitch and you know where he's going to be."
Pevaeta also got some praise from the Kashmir manager.
"He really kept us in check today. Everything looked to be moving. Seemed like the pitch was right down the middle and it went over down and away... we took some pathetic swings."
Checking out his stats for the year, Pevaeta has racked up 6 wins and 6 losses in 15 starts, 3.22 ERA and struck out 87 batters in 100.2 innings. | | Thursday, June 30th, 1814: Kashmir Whitewashes Doors "He was kind of teasing them with his offspeed stuff and his fastball was moving everywhere," the Kashmir skipper said in postgame comments after Sly Falkner had shut out the Bombay Doors 5-0 on a 6-hit masterpiece.
Falkner numbered 4 strikeouts and issued 1 walk in a gem of a performance.
"We just didn't swing the bats very well . . . or he just pitched good, whichever way you want to look at it," complained the Bombay manager after the defeat.
This year Falkner has fanned 8 in 20.1 innings and collected a 2-1 record with a 5.31 ERA. | | Sunday, May 15th, 1814: Miller Twirls Sweaters to Shutout Win Potty Miller of the Kashmir Sweaters was really in the zone as he mowed down the Bangalore hitters 2-0 in a sterling mound performance.
"I'm feeling good overall," he said.
"I'm executing my pitches, I'm able to hit my spots and I'm getting outs in key situations."
Miller shut down the Bangalore Torpedoes, blanking them on 4 hits while registering 3 strikeouts and 2 walks.
