It doesn't happen very often, but it happened for Freedom Chalfant -- a 5-hit day. He went on a rampage at Shakers Stadium and paced the Shakers to a 10-3 win over the Kenya Sparadimes.
After his dynamite batting performance the Djibouti left fielder told the press, "I just tried to get myself in a good count and have a good at-bat. That's all I can control." His philosophy paid some great dividends today. He slammed 5 hits in 5 tries and put his name in the record book.
F. Chalfant singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off P. Serrono in the 8th.

Pennyloafer Odgers of the Djibouti Shakers spun his magic on the Kenya Sparadimes today. He blanked them 10-0 on 3 hits, registering 2 strikeouts and 1 walk.
"The bottom line was I just kept the ball down," Odgers said. "My breaking stuff was down. Everything was down."
Talking to reporters in the postgame interview, the Djibouti skipper said, "We got solid pitching, good defense and we took great team at-bats in a lot of different situations. This was just a solid performance by everyone."
