| Breaking News |  | Sunday, April 3rd, 1814: Frogs Vallurupa Smacks 5 Hits!
All game long Collège de Sorbonne's Greg Vallurupa was rattling the walls at Frog Parque and banging out base hits against the Lousiana State Tigers and when the dust finally settled on the diamond, he had a career day, a 5-hit day, but no victory. The Tigers defeated the Frogs 8-7 to take a little of the glitter of the occasion away.
Speaking with reporters after his standout performance, the 21-year-old right fielder lamented, "To get 5 hits and win a ballgame, that would have been a very special day. But we didn't win today. It's not easy to be happy when you lose. Only losers do that."
In all, Vallurupa collected 5 hits in 5 at-bats and a spot in the record book.
G. Vallurupa hit an RBI double in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.

 | Saturday, April 2nd, 1814: Hopps Tosses Shutout Against Lousiana State
Guadalcanal Hopps of the Collège de Sorbonne Frogs gave the Tigers a steady diet of fine pitches and he walked off the mound with a complete game shutout. He blanked them 9-0 on 3 hits with a total of 8 strikeouts and 2 walks.
The Collège de Sorbonne manager said, "Hopps was on quite a roll. He gets great late movement and he doesn't give in to the hitters."
